  8. Red Button is a get out of Windows quick program. It runs as an icon. The
  9. Icon looks like a red button. When you double click on it Windows is shutdown.
  10. Click once on the icon to see Red Button's system menu. Here you can select 
  11. the About box, get more information from Red Button's help file and select 
  12. Warning. When you select warning Red Button will warn you before exiting, 
  13. much as the Program Manager does. The Warning menu becomes checked when
  14. warning is enabled. The state of the Warning menu is saved between sessions 
  15. so you can run Red Button repeatedly without setting the Warning level. The
  16. default warning setting is off. This means that the first time you run Red
  17. Button there will be no warning.

  22. Registration and License Agreement

  24. The use of Red Button is subject to the following terms and conditions:

  26. Red Button is copyrighted material, protected by the copyright laws of
  27. the United States. You may not make any changes or modifications,
  28. decompile, disassemble, or otherwise reverse-engineer the software
  29. in any way.

  31. Red Button can be used on a trial basis provided the user does not violate
  32. the protection afforded the licensed software by the copyright laws, 
  33. and the user agrees to the terms of the license agreement. If the user
  34. continues to use Red Button past a 15 day evaluation period the user is 
  35. obligated to purchase a license.
  36.  
  37. Red Button can be used on a Local Area Network provided that a license is 
  38. obtained for the number of users that may concurrently use the software.

  40. A license for the user of Red Button can be obtained by sending a $15.00

  52. Title to the licensed software is NOT transferred to the end user. The 
  53. end user is granted an exclusive license to use the software on one
  54. computer at any given time.

  58. Distribution

  60. Users are granted a limited license to copy Red Button only for the trial use
  61. by others subject to the terms of this software license agreement described
  62. herein, and the conditions described below are met:

  64. Red Button MUST be copied in and unmodified form and MUST contain the 
  65. following files:

  67.    RedBtn.EXE
  68.    RedBtn.HLP
  69.    RedBtn.TXT
  70.    BHSCC.DLL

  72. No fee, charge or other compensation may be accepted or requested by
  73. anyone without the express written permission of Beacon Hill Software.
  74.  
  75. Public Domain Disk Vendors, Shareware Disk Vendors and Distributors of public
  76. domain and user supported software  may not charge a fee for Red Button
  77. itself. However, you may include Red Button on a diskette for which you 
  78. charge a nominal distribution fee. The purchaser of said diskette must be 
  79. informed in advance that the fee paid to acquire the diskette does NOT 
  80. relieve said purchaser from paying the registration fee for Red Button if 
  81. said purchaser uses Red Button.

  83. Operators of electronic bulletin board systems may post Red Button for 
  84. downloading by their users without written permission only as long as the 
  85. above conditions are met. A fee may be charged for access to the bbs as long 
  86. as no specific fee is charged for downloading Red Button files.

  88. Limited Warranty
  89.  
  90. Beacon Hill Software does not warrant that the licensed software will meet
  91. any requirements or that the operation of the software will be uninterrupted 
  92. or error free. The warranty does not cover any media or documentation which
  93. has been subject to damage or abuse by you or others. The software warranty
  94. does not cover any copy of the licensed software which has been altered or
  95. changed in any way.

  97. ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES INCLUDING ANY WARRANTIES OF MERCHANT ABILITY OR
  98. FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE ARE LIMITED TO THE TERM OF THE EXPRESS
  99. WARRANTIES. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied
  100. warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you.

  102. The warranties set forth above are in lieu of any and all other express
  103. or implied warranties, whether oral, written, or implied, and the remedies
  104. set forth above are the sole and exclusive remedies.

  106. Beacon Hill Software is not responsible for any problems or damages caused
  107. by the licensed software that may result from using the licensed software.
  108. This includes, but is not limited to, computer hardware, computer software,
  109. operating systems, and any computer or computing accessories. End user agrees
  110. to hold Beacon Hill Software harmless for any problems arising from the user 
  111. of the software.

  113. Beacon Hill Software SHALL NOT IN ANY CASE BE LIABLE FOR ANY SPECIAL, 
  114. INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, INDIRECT OR OTHER SIMILAR DAMAGES ARISING FROM
  115. ANY BREACH OF THESE WARRANTIES EVEN IF Beacon Hill Software OR ITS AGENTS
  116. OR DISTRIBUTORS HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGE. Some
  117. states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential
  118. damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.

  120. In no case shall Beacon Hill Software's liability exceed the license fees
  121. paid for the right to use the licensed software.
